Born and raised in China, Sophia earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in China before immigrating to Vancouver, B. C. to study for and earn her MBA in the middle of 1990s.
Soon after graduating, she became Vice General Manager of a large, Japanese joint printing and aviation venture located in Shanghai. She was responsible for the company’s international projects in Europe, Canada and the Middle East. In the early 2001, she was appointed president of the company and tasked with establishing a consulting division in New Jersey, all while continuing to work as a liaison between a Chinese government agency and American exporters. Moving to New Jersey and setting up a new home, Sophia developed a keen interest in interior design and, in addition to managing the new business, she took classes at Parsons School of Design in New York City to further the study of her newly found interest.
In 2015 she moved to Paris where she resided for five years, continuing her interest in interior design by buying and renovating apartments,
She has a passion towards the arts, culture and language. In addition to English, she is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and speak some French. She has studied, worked and lived in over twenty cities in China, Canada, France and the US, advancing her superb global experience, honing her multiple language skills and success in business development and developing a unique perspective and understanding of the emerging socio-economic dialogue between the East and West.
